Lakhs of youth recruited into the Army under the Agneepath scheme have only one dream: to become permanent soldiers in the Indian Army after four years of service. Now, the Indian Army has introduced a new and important rule for these young recruits, which is important for every Agniveer to know. This rule directly impacts their personal life, as it gives clear guidelines regarding marriage.
The Indian Army has decided that Agniveers who want to become permanent soldiers cannot marry until they get permanent appointment in the army. If an Agniveer marries during this process or before becoming a permanent soldier, he will be considered ineligible for permanent service. Such Agniveer will neither be able to apply for permanent army posts nor will be able to take part in the selection process. This new rule has raised many questions among the firefighters. The biggest question is when can they get married so that their dream of becoming a permanent soldier can be fulfilled and they can also move forward in their personal life. The Army has also clarified the situation in this regard.
must avoid marriage
According to the new rule, Agniveer can marry only if he is appointed as a permanent soldier in the Indian Army. This means they will have to abstain from marriage until the final results of the permanent appointment process are declared. However, they won’t have to wait long. After completing their four years of service, Agniveers will have to wait for about 4 to 6 months for the entire permanent appointment process to be completed.
when did it start?
Agneepath scheme was launched in 2022. The first batch of recruits under this scheme is now completing its four years of service. The service period of Agniveers of 2022 batch will end around June and July 2026. It is estimated that the first batch included around 20,000 youth, who are now about to be discharged from service. About 25 percent of these Agniveers will get a chance to become permanent soldiers in the Indian Army. Selection will be based on physical fitness, written examination and other criteria. The selection process will be completely based on merit and performance. Those Agniveers who successfully complete this process will be given permanent appointment in the army.
However, the process of becoming a permanent soldier does not end on the same day their service ends. Agniveers will have to apply for this, and then the complete selection process will take place. This process usually takes 4 to 6 months. During this time, the Army has made it clear that no Agniveer should get married until the final list is released.
When will this restriction be lifted?
According to reports, the Army says that if any Agniveer marries during this period, he will be disqualified from the race to become a confirmed soldier. The application of such a candidate will not be accepted, irrespective of his qualification. Therefore, Agniveers have been advised to understand and follow this rule seriously. However, those Agniveers who will be selected as confirmed soldiers will have complete freedom to marry after getting the appointment. Once they join the army permanently, they can get married anytime as per their convenience and wish. This restriction will not apply to them at that time.
