The newborn is not born in a normal way, due to which it does not cry, and as a result oxygen does not reach the brain. This can cause obstruction of physical and mental development of the child. In this situation, the brain and other organs can cause severe damage, which can cause life -long problems.
Obstacles in the treatment of newborns
According to doctors at BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur, the increasing number of newborns victims of birth asphixia is causing serious pressure in hospitals. This condition can be extremely dangerous for children, and if proper treatment is not found on time, the child may face physical and mental problems for life.
Although these children are being treated at BRD Medical College, many government health centers (CHCs) and private hospitals lack the resources and expertise required to deal with this problem.
Shortage of pediatricians
There is a huge shortage of pediatricians in government and private hospitals in Gorakhpur. Due to not having adequate pediatrician in district hospitals and primary health centers (CHC), newborns do not get immediate medical help. Due to this deficiency, many children do not get timely treatment and their condition becomes serious.
Experts say that if the child has a problem in breathing at birth, then immediate treatment and medical equipment are required. However, many hospitals do not have enough facilities for such treatment. This makes the lives of children at stake.
Need to improve government and private hospitals
In view of the increase in the cases of birth asphixia in Gorakhpur, the Health Department has emphasized the appointment of pediatricians. In addition, the government is working towards providing necessary medical equipment and resources in hospitals to deal with this problem.
However, there is a shortage of pediatricians in private hospitals, due to which the complications of birth in those hospitals are not resolved in time. As a result, many families have to come to government hospitals like BRD Medical College for treatment.
