Mahesh Bhatt was very excited about his film “Zeher”. The reason for this was the young team engaged in film production. Young actor Emraan Hashmi was playing the lead role in the film. Twenty-two year old Mohit Suri was directing the film. Twenty-two year old Atif Aslam was singing important songs in the film.
Mahesh Bhatt called composer Naresh Sharma ji to compose the music. When Naresh Sharma ji saw the team, he became quiet for a while. Then after thinking something, Mahesh said to Bhatt, “Bhatt sir, this is a very young team, my son is also a musician, his coordination with this young team will be better.
Mahesh Bhatt was always enthusiastic about new artists and new ideas. He agreed to Naresh Sharma. Naresh Sharma sent his son Mithun to Mahesh Bhatt’s office. Mithun would have been around nineteen years old at that time. He was suddenly surprised and thrilled by such a big opportunity.
Mithun met Mohit Suri and Atif Aslam. Atif Aslam took an aalaap, which Mithun liked very much. When Mithun returned home, that song was in his mind. For the next three-four days, Mithun worked in the studio in his house. Then the film team was called home and played music. Everyone was very impressed. Mithun had done a wonderful job. The team agreed to Mithun’s music. The music of the film was composed, released and proved to be a superhit.
The song which he composed after listening to the aalaap of Atif Aslam, the lyrics of which were “Woh Lamhe, Woh Baatein Koi Na Jaane”. The interesting thing is that at the same time, Mithun’s college examinations were also going on. In the auto rickshaw in which Mithun was going to take the Economics exam, the song “Woh Lamhe” composed by Mithun was playing. Mithun got so excited by this incident that he forgot everything after going to the examination hall. As a result, he failed in Economics. But the music of the film became such a hit that Mithun’s life changed and the path of film music started waiting for him with bated breath. Mithun proved to be a successful music director of Hindi film music.
