Actors Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal and filmmaker Karan Johar on Thursday expressed grief over the Air India flight and prayed for the safety and well-being of all those on board.
It is noteworthy that this plane crashed in an area near Ahmedabad Airport. Air India flight AL 171, flying from Ahmedabad to London, crashed shortly after take off from Gatwick Airport. There were 242 passengers on board the plane.
“Shocked and speechless by the Air India accident. Only prayers at this time,” Akshay wrote on social media platform X.
Akshay was to attend the promotional event of Telugu film “Kannaappa” with co-star Vishnu Manchu in Indore (Madhya Pradesh) on Friday, but it has been canceled in the wake of the tragedy. The team has also decided to postpone the trailer launch by a day.
Following the plane crash, Salman Khan’s planned engagement at an Indian Supercross Racing League event on Thursday was also cancelled.
Actor Allu Arjun said that he is saddened by the tragic accident. He said, “My deepest condolences to the families of the victims. May their souls rest in peace. This is truly heartbreaking.”
“This is so sad! My heart goes out to all the passengers and crew, my prayers and condolences to everyone on board the plane and their loved ones,” Alia wrote on Instagram Stories.
Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan said that she is shocked to hear the news of the plane crash. “I’m praying for everyone on board. The passengers, the crew and their families,” he said.
Kareena wrote on Instagram, “I have no words to express the pain this has caused me.”
Actor Manoj Bajpayee wrote, “Heartbroken to hear about the plane crash in Ahmedabad. Praying for a miracle to save lives and recovery of the injured. May the souls of those who lost their lives rest in peace and may their loved ones find strength in these dark times.”
Vicky also described the news of the plane crash as “devastating”. He said, “My heart sinks after reading the news of 242 people on board the plane. I pray for the safety and well-being of everyone.”
Karan Johar wrote, “Devastating news about the ill-fated Air India plane. Reports of loss of lives and injuries are still coming in. I’m praying for everyone on board. My condolences and prayers to the families and loved ones of the passengers on board.”
Actor Sunny Deol said that he is praying with all his heart for the survivors. He wrote, “May they be found and get the necessary care. May the souls of those who lost their lives rest in peace and may their families find strength in these unimaginable times.”
Ishaan Khatter said he was “disturbed” to hear about the accident. “I pray for all those affected,” he said.
Sara Ali Khan said, “I pray and give strength to all those affected by the plane crash in Ahmedabad today.” Riteish Deshmukh said he was “deeply saddened and shocked to hear about the tragic plane crash.”
He said, “My thoughts are with all the passengers, their families and all those affected on the ground. My thoughts and prayers go out to them all at this extremely difficult time.”
Actress Parineeti Chopra posted, “Can’t imagine the pain of the family members of the ill-fated Air India flight today. Praying to God to give them strength in this difficult time.” Actors Randeep Hooda and Sonu Sood also expressed condolences on the ex.
Randeep said, “Heartbroken to hear about the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected. Wish for the survivors and strength to the rescue teams. May God rest the departed souls and give their families strength to bear this immense loss.”
Sonu wrote, “Pray for the Air India plane that crashed in Ahmedabad after taking off for London.” Actress-politician Kangana Ranaut said, “The news of the Ahmedabad plane crash is extremely sad and painful. I pray to God for everyone’s safety, may God give strength to all the affected families in this hour of crisis.”
