Veteran actor Achyut Potdar, who was famous for the memorable role of a strict professor in the film ‘3 Idiots’, has passed away. He was 91 years old. The actor breathed his last at Jupiter Hospital in Thane. He was admitted to the hospital due to health related problems. The exact cause of his death has not yet been revealed. His last rites will be performed in Thane today. At the same time, the death of veteran actor has mourned from Marathi cinema to TV and Bollywood.
Achyut, who entertained fans with more than 125 movies in a brilliant acting career, got the most fame superstar Aamir Khan’s blockbuster film 3 Idiots.
Prior to making his mark in cinema, Achyut Potdar was working in the Indian Armed Forces and later also worked in the Indian Oil Company. His passion for acting gave him an entry in films and television in the 1980s and he had a longer career here.
Potdar acted in more than 125 films in Hindi and Marathi cinema. His filmography includes outrage, why Albert Pinto gets angry, Ardh Truth, Tezaab, Parinda, Raju became Gentleman, Dilwale, Rangeela, Really, Hum Saath Saath Hai Hai, Parineeta, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Dabangg 2 and Ventilator were appreciated by committees and Kamarshali successful films.
He became famous in the house by playing the role of a strict but lovely engineering professor in Rajkumar Hirani’s blockbuster film 3 Idiots. His dialogue “What do you want to say…” is very famous on social media, which is still used a lot in social media and memes.
Apart from films, Potdar also worked a lot on television. He appeared in famous shows like ‘Wagle Ki Duniya’, ‘Majha Hoshila Na’, ‘Mrs. Tendulkar’ and ‘India Ki Khoj’. His versatility helped him to move forward easily between the stage, TV and cinema, which gave him a lot of respect.
