Successful Hindi cinema director Subhash Ghai was making his film “Pardes”. Earlier in the year 1995, Trimurti was produced by Subhash Ghai’s banner Mukta Arts. Subhash Ghai was the producer in Trimurti. The direction of the film was the responsibility of Mukul Anand. The film featured big names like Anil Kapoor, Shahrukh Khan and Jackie Shroff. When the story of the film was written, it was time to cast the characters. Subhash Ghai wanted to cast new actors in the film. He wanted new faces to be seen in the film. On the contrary, Subhash Ghai’s team believed that only big and established actors should be cast in the film, otherwise the film would not find buyers. While Subhash Ghai’s team remained adamant on including Shahrukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan in the film, Subhash Ghai had decided that he would make the film with new faces at any cost. There was a solid reason behind this decision. The reason was that according to the story written by Subhash Ghai, the character of the actress was of an innocent, naive girl. Whereas due to Madhuri Dixit’s stardom, it was very difficult to bring that innocence and innocence alive on screen and make the audience believe it.
