Kolkata, July 5 (IANS). Adani Group will build a 2,000-bed hospital in the New Town area, out of which 1,000 beds will be reserved for free treatment of poor patients. This information was given by West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari.
Giving information about the initiatives launched by his government in the last two months in the state, Chief Minister Adhikari on Saturday said that Adani Group has given a written promise to build a modern hospital with 2,000 beds in New Town. Of these, 1,000 beds will be for the poor and the remaining 1,000 beds will be used for commercial operations.
Earlier in May, Adani Group announced the launch of ‘ACE-Adani Center for Eye Diseases’ in collaboration with Akhand Jyoti Hospital of Bihar and Adani Foundation. He said that the aim of this initiative is to provide affordable and easily available eye treatment to the needy people.
“ATOM-Adani Training Center for Ophthalmic Medicine” will help in creating a new generation of eye care specialists and women healthcare workers.
According to Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, the aim of this initiative is to expand quality eye care services across the country in the coming years.
“Restoring a person’s eyesight is not just a medical treatment, but a way to bring hope, confidence and dignity back into their lives,” the Adani Group chairman said during a visit to Mustichak in Bihar.
There he visited Gayatri Shaktipeeth and praised the social service work being done by Gayatri Parivar and Akhand Jyoti.
Last year, Adani Group’s CSR initiative had announced a partnership with Aadharshila Trust to expand the Renal Care Project at Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) in the capital.
The expansion of the Cornerstone Renal Care Project (ARCP) at Smt. Sucheta Kripalani Hospital, one of the teaching institutions of LHMC, is a significant step towards strengthening dialysis care in Delhi’s public healthcare infrastructure.
