Ahmedabad, June 2 (IANS). Ahmedabad Police’s ‘Mission Fit Khaki’, started to improve the health and fitness of policemen, has proved successful. The program concluded on Tuesday, in which Police Commissioner GS Malik said that the results had been good.
Police Commissioner GS Malik said that the ‘Mission Fit Khaki’ program ran for 12 weeks, which ended on Tuesday. He said that it has yielded good results. He said, “Obesity is the root of all diseases. When the program was started, we had everyone’s weight and blood test done. After 12 weeks, today again all the policemen have been weighed and blood test done. In these 12 weeks, the weight of many people has reduced up to 17 kg.”
He told that there are a total of 10 people whose weight has decreased by 10 to 17 kg in the last 12 weeks. Everyone has benefited from this program. Many people have lost 7 to 8 kg weight. Some people had problems with blood pressure earlier, after participating in this fitness program their medicines have also been stopped. Some people used to take sugar medicine, who no longer need it.
The Police Commissioner said that those who have benefited will give training to other policemen at the police station level and zone level, so that the health of others also improves. GS Malik said that a lot of information was given to the policemen during the 12-week program. I myself told them what to do and how to do it.
He told that through this program we have also mentally strengthened the policemen as to what things to avoid eating. The Police Commissioner said that the families of those who have benefited from the 12-week program are also happy.
Appealing to the general public, the Police Commissioner said, “Strengthen your mind. Give at least one hour to your body and take a long walk. Take special care of your diet.”
