New Delhi, February 8 (IANS). Due to today’s irregular routine and wrong eating habits, the challenges of dealing with physical and mental problems are continuously increasing. If we include Yogasana in our daily routine amidst the hectic lifestyle, then these problems can be avoided to a great extent. The name of one such yoga asana which increases the strength of body and mind is Akarna Dhanurasana.
The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India has highlighted Akarna Dhanurasana as a special yoga posture. According to the ministry, this asana is not just a physical exercise, but it imparts balance and strength to the body. True to the name, this mudra makes the practitioner focused, strong and strong like an archer taking aim.
Akarna Dhanurasana is an advanced yoga pose, in which the body bends like a bow and the hands come in an arrow position. This asana is considered extremely effective in increasing body flexibility, muscle strength and mental concentration. With its regular practice, the mind as well as the body remains healthy.
According to experts, to do this asana, first lie down on your stomach. Hold the big toe of the right foot with the right hand and the big toe of the left foot with the left hand. Taking a deep breath, slowly pull both legs upward. Also raise the head and chest as much as possible. During this the body bends like a bow. Maintain this position for 15 to 30 seconds and keep breathing normally. On completion of the exercise, slowly lower the legs and head. Then repeat the same action.
Regular practice of Akarna Dhanurasana strengthens the muscles of the back, shoulders and chest. The spine remains flexible and healthy, which provides great relief from back pain. The pressure on the abdominal organs improves digestion and removes problems like constipation. The muscles of the legs, thighs and hips are stretched. This asana also improves balance and concentration. At the mental level, this posture strengthens the feeling of self-confidence.
According to experts, Akarna Dhanurasana is a powerful yoga asana that establishes balance in both body and mind, which proves to be especially beneficial for yoga practitioners. However, initially people should do this asana only under the supervision of a yoga instructor. No pressure should be put on the body during the practice of asana.
