New Delhi, May 29 (IANS). It is considered common to have fever during the summer season, but is every fever normal? The answer is- no. Sometimes symptoms like high fever, chills and weakness can be warnings of malaria. Ignoring these symptoms is nothing but fooling yourself.
The National Health Mission (NHM) cautioned people that malaria should not be taken lightly. This disease can be completely cured with timely diagnosis and proper treatment. Health experts say that awareness is the best medicine to prevent malaria.
Malaria is spread by mosquito bites. This disease is caused by a parasite called Plasmodium in the body. The initial symptoms often look like ordinary viral fever, so people usually ignore them, but if not treated in time, it can also become fatal.
According to health experts, if you see symptoms like high fever, which keeps coming and going again and again, chills and shivering, severe headache, weakness and fatigue in the body, excessive sweating, vomiting, nausea or diarrhea as well as restlessness and loss of appetite, then be careful. Without any carelessness, immediately contact the doctor and get a blood test done. A simple blood test is sufficient to detect malaria.
NHM says that prevention from malaria is possible. If the right medicine is started on time, the patient recovers completely within a few days. It is especially important to keep some things in mind to prevent malaria. Do not allow water to accumulate around the house, use mosquito nets, wear full-sleeved clothes and use mosquito repellents. Also, in case of fever, do not take medicine yourself, definitely consult a doctor.
