New Delhi, May 16 (IANS). Do you also feel stiffness, pain and restlessness in your joints as soon as you wake up in the morning? Has it become difficult to climb stairs, walk or do even simple everyday tasks? According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, problems like arthritis have become common now, but its effective and natural solution is present in yoga.

Arthritis is not a common pain. It is a chronic condition characterized by swelling, persistent stiffness and discomfort in the joints. Due to this, the mobility of the person gets limited and even small tasks become tiring. Today’s fast-paced lifestyle, sitting for hours, bad posture and physical stress are further increasing this problem. These habits put extra pressure on the joints, reduce flexibility and cause severe pain. In such a situation, regular yoga practice can be a strong solution.

Yoga strengthens the joints from within, increases flexibility, reduces stiffness and protects the joints by strengthening the surrounding muscles. This not only provides relief from pain but also maintains mobility and prevents daily fatigue.

According to the Ministry of AYUSH, “Stay fit with yoga, stay disease free.” Regular yoga practice not only controls the symptoms but also works on the root cause of the disease. Improvement can be seen by including 30-45 minutes of yoga in the morning on an empty stomach in the daily routine. People who are troubled by joint pain should make yoga a part of their daily routine. Before starting yoga practice, definitely consult a yoga expert.

According to experts, yogasanas and pranayams beneficial in the management of arthritis include Gomukhasana, Bhramari, Pawanmuktasana, Marjariyasana, Tadasana and Shitali Pranayam.

Gomukhasana is very effective in removing stiffness of shoulders, knees and hips. Pawanmuktasana improves digestion by reducing back and knee pain. Marjariyasana reduces joint stiffness by making the spine flexible. At the same time, Tadasana improves the posture of the body and maintains proper balance on the joints. Along with this, Bhramari Pranayam reduces stress which is a major reason for increasing arthritis and Sheetali Pranayam cools the body and helps in reducing swelling.
