New Delhi, April 13 (IANS). Nowadays, Arjuna, used in Ayurveda, is considered an important natural medicine amidst increasing heart diseases and respiratory problems. The bark of the Arjuna tree has been used for health benefits for centuries due to its medicinal properties.
According to experts, the anti-oxidants present in Arjuna bark help in strengthening the heart and improve blood circulation. It is also considered helpful in reducing oxidative stress in the body, which benefits heart health.
A lot of relief is felt by its regular consumption. Heartbeat becomes regular, blood pressure is controlled and breathing problems also go away.
According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, Arjuna bark is extremely useful for heart health. Terminalic acid, flavonoids and abundant antioxidants are found in it. These elements strengthen the heart muscles, thin the blood and reduce the risk of heart attack. Arjuna controls blood pressure by widening the blood vessels. It reduces bad cholesterol and increases good cholesterol.
It also helps in keeping the entire body healthy by improving blood circulation. Arjun also proves to be a panacea for respiratory problems. Its decoction provides relief in complaints like asthma, cough, shortness of breath and chest tightness. Apart from this, it strengthens the digestive system and removes problems like constipation, indigestion and gas. Ayurvedacharyas recommend that the decoction of Arjuna bark can be taken in the morning on an empty stomach or at night before sleeping. Some honey or jaggery can be added to it for taste. Consuming it daily is considered safe and beneficial.
Pregnant women and lactating mothers should consume Arjuna only on the advice of a doctor or Ayurvedacharya. With regular use, the heart remains healthy, blood circulation improves and new energy is infused in the body.
