Weak immunity is a major cause of these diseases, hence it is important to take special care of immunity in this season. In such a situation, consumption of Ashwagandha tea is very beneficial.
The Ministry of AYUSH of the Government of India gives detailed information about the benefits of Ashwagandha as well as its tea. According to Ayurveda, this herb, which has been used for centuries, is known to increase immunity as well as reduce stress and provide relief from joint pain. Ashwagandha tea is very beneficial in winter. It not only increases immunity but also provides relief from joint pain, arthritis and stress.
In Ayurveda, Ashwagandha is considered a Rasayana (rejuvenating) herb, which gives strength and balance to the body. Drinking Ashwagandha tea provides many benefits. It reduces stress and anxiety. It keeps the mind calm by controlling the increasing stress hormone (cortisol) in modern lifestyle, which results in good sleep and removes mental fatigue.
The problem of weakening of immunity is common in winter, but Ashwagandha increases immunity with its antioxidant and immunomodulatory properties, preventing colds and infections. This tea proves to be a panacea for joint and arthritis pain. Its anti-inflammatory properties reduce swelling and pain, especially providing relief from knee and back pain.
According to Ayurveda, it balances Vata dosha, which increases joint problems in winter. Apart from this, it increases energy, relieves fatigue, maintains hormonal balance and improves digestion. With its regular consumption the skin remains glowing. It also improves health.
The method of making Ashwagandha tea is easy. Add half a spoon of Ashwagandha powder in a cup of water and boil it. After 5-10 minutes, filter it and add honey or lemon to taste and drink it.
In winter, you can drink one or two cups a day. However, some precautions are necessary. Taking large amounts may cause stomach upset, vomiting, diarrhea, or drowsiness. Do not take without consulting a doctor, pregnant or breastfeeding women, people with thyroid or autoimmune disease.
