New Delhi, October 27 (IANS). Bathing is a daily habit for all of us, but in Ayurveda, bathing is considered a complete ritual that not only cleanses the body but also refreshes the mind and soul. Bathing done at the right time and manner removes fatigue from the body, calms the mind and fills you with energy throughout the day.
If you exercise in the morning, then according to Ayurveda you should take bath after half an hour of exercise. By doing this the body temperature is balanced and the muscles get rest. Taking bath after the sweat dries does not cause problems like cold and cough and cold water has a good effect on the body.
Regular bathing has many physical benefits. It prevents premature graying of hair and also reduces the problem of baldness. When heat and dirt are removed from the body, blood circulation in the scalp increases, which strengthens the hair roots. This is why in ancient times people considered bathing as a part of meditation and purification.
Another big benefit of bathing is that it improves sleep. When you take a bath, both body and mind get coolness and relaxation. Especially after exercise, when the body becomes hot, taking bath normalizes the body temperature and removes the tiredness of the day. This results in deep and peaceful sleep at night.
If you want to make your bath a little more special, include some natural things in it. For example, add a few drops of neem, sandalwood or rose extract in bathing water. These will not only give fragrance but will also give freshness and glow to the skin. Use lukewarm water in winter, while bathing with cold water in summer cools the body.
