Kanpur, April 30 (IANS). Digestive problems become common in summer. In such a situation, the demand for natural and Ayurvedic remedies increases. One of these popular and very beneficial spices is Buknu, which in Ayurveda is said to be especially effective for the digestive system.
Famous for centuries in many cities including Kanpur of Uttar Pradesh, this spice is a balanced mixture of herbs, which proves to be a boon for the digestive system. According to the UP Tourism Department, Buknu is not just an ordinary spice but a delicious part of the Ayurvedic tradition. In this, dry ginger, black salt, asafoetida, fenugreek, celery, turmeric, cumin and many other rare herbs are mixed in the right proportion. This mixture not only enhances the taste of food, but also plays an important role in keeping the stomach healthy.
In the summer season, taking a pinch of Buknu after meals relieves most of the digestive problems. This spice not only enhances the taste but also makes the food easier to digest. This is the reason why Buknu is used as a home remedy in many families from generation to generation. Regular use of natural spices like Buknu not only keeps the digestive system strong but also improves health.
Buknu is very popular in Kanpur and surrounding areas. People eat it by sprinkling it lightly on parantha, puri, dal-rice, salad, chutney or any food. The biggest benefit of Buknu is that it strengthens the digestive system. It proves to be very effective in problems like indigestion, raw belching, gas, acidity and flatulence that occur after heavy meals in summer.
According to Ayurveda, the herbs present in Buknu balance the fire (Agni) of the stomach. Dry ginger and celery speed up digestion, asafoetida and black salt reduce gas problems, while turmeric prevents inflammation and infection. Fenugreek and cumin cool the stomach and help in increasing appetite.
