New Delhi, April 11 (IANS). Chandrabhedan Pranayam proves to be very useful in reducing body heat and keeping the mind calm in the rising temperatures of summer. According to yoga experts, this pranayama is especially beneficial in the summer season. It not only provides coolness to the body but also makes the mind stable and calm.

According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, Chandra Bhedan Pranayam is mainly based on the process of inhaling through the left nostril and exhaling through the right nostril. This pranayama helps in balancing Pitta dosha, thereby providing relief from heat-related problems like irritability, excessive sweating and lack of sleep.

Experts also tell the correct way to do Chandrabhedan Pranayam, for this, sit comfortably in Sukhasana or Padmasana posture in a quiet and clean place on an empty stomach. Make Nasika Mudra with the right hand. In this, place the thumb of the right hand on the right nostril.

Breathe in slowly and deeply through the left nostril. Close the left nostril with the thumb and exhale slowly through the right nostril. Repeat this process regularly for 5 to 10 minutes. Start with 5 minutes initially and gradually increase the time. It is good to do this pranayam in the morning or evening.

The practice of Chandrabhedan Pranayam provides not just one or two but many benefits to the body and mind. It reduces excess body heat and makes you feel cool. Makes the mind calm and stable, reduces stress and anxiety. Helpful in improving sleep quality. Balances Pitta dosha, thereby reducing health problems related to heat. Provides relief from problems like headache, burning sensation and irritability.

According to yoga gurus, doing Chandrabhedan Pranayam regularly during the summer season keeps both the body and mind healthy. This pranayama can be easily done by a person of any age. However, people with serious illness must consult a doctor or yoga expert before doing it.
