Constipation and acidity are the real villains of headache, not painkillers, these remedies will help.

Why do complaints of headache and migraine increase in winter? Know the reason from Ayurveda

New Delhi, January 24 (IANS). Often people start taking painkillers as soon as they get a headache and think that the problem is in the head, but Ayurveda says that it is not necessary. Our headaches are often just a sign that there is something wrong with some other part of the body, especially the stomach and digestive system.

In simple words, the real cause of headache can be stomach problems. Maharishi Sushruta has told in ‘Sushruta Samhita’ that there are many types of headache and in most of them the doshas i.e. Vata, Pitta and Kapha get unbalanced and reach up to the head. There are often problems like constipation, gas or acidity behind this.

If you eat very spicy, fried or sour food then bile increases in the body. This bile reaches the head through blood and causes burning sensation, heaviness and pain behind the eyes, which people often mistake for migraine. At the same time, constipation or gas trapped in the stomach also causes headache. The stool and toxins accumulated in the stomach contaminate the blood and affect the brain. In such a situation, just applying balm or taking painkiller does not solve the real problem.

Many effective remedies have been suggested in Ayurveda. Nasya Kriya, i.e. putting a few drops of desi ghee in the nose, works to pacify pitta and nourish the nerves. If the pain is due to acidity, then drinking coriander water soaked overnight mixed with sugar candy is beneficial. For constipation and gas, Avitikar powder and dry ginger (dry ginger) paste also helps. Apart from this, avoid taking painkillers daily. Do not eat heavy food late at night and do not eat very cold or stale food.

Today’s modern research also believes that there is a direct connection between the stomach and the brain. If your stomach remains healthy, the headache will automatically reduce.
