New Delhi, June 2 (IANS). Today’s irregular lifestyle seems to be increasing the physical and mental problems of aging people. With increasing age, frequent constipation, digestive problems and persistent back pain become common, which adversely affects overall health. In this context, the Ministry of AYUSH has recommended to include Dhanurasana i.e. Bow Pose in your daily routine.
Only a few days are left for World Yoga Day 2026 (21st June). In such a situation, the Ministry of AYUSH of the Government of India is advising to include yoga in daily life and is continuously motivating the citizens to stay healthy by giving information about new yogasanas.
According to the ministry, with increasing age, frequent constipation, digestive problems and persistent back pain have become common, which adversely affects comfort, mobility and health. In such a situation, by practicing Dhanurasana, many problems can be said goodbye forever.
Dhanurasana thoroughly stretches the abdominal region, stimulates the digestive organs, strengthens the back muscles and increases the flexibility of the body. The practice of Dhanurasana activates the stomach muscles, which provides relief from the problem of constipation and improves digestion. It also strengthens the spine and proves to be very helpful in reducing back pain. Its daily practice increases the flexibility of muscles and joints, due to which the body remains active and agile despite increasing age.
To practice Dhanurasana, first of all lie down and bend both the knees, move the ankles backwards and hold the heels of the feet with hands. While inhaling, raise the chest and thighs so that the body takes a bow-like shape. Remain in this position for a few seconds and then slowly come back to normal position. People with beginner practice level should exercise caution and it is better to start under the supervision of a yoga expert.
