Does your child eat less and get tired easily? This can be a serious problem, know the solution

New Delhi, April 1 (IANS). Children often work as per their own wish, sometimes they eat less, and sometimes they become so engrossed in playing that they do not pay attention to their studies. But if your child is continuously eating less, gets tired quickly, shows no interest in playing and is also lagging behind in studies, then do not take it lightly.

According to health experts, these symptoms may indicate anemia i.e. lack of blood. Anemia affects the physical and mental development of children. It can be easily controlled with timely detection and proper nutrition.

According to health experts, diversify the child’s food. If the child is constantly feeling tired or has no appetite, then definitely get checked by a doctor. Blood tests can confirm anemia. Iron medicines can also be taken as per doctor’s advice.

According to the National Health Mission, anemia can seriously affect the physical and mental development of children, but it can be easily prevented with timely attention and nutritious diet. Anemia is mainly caused by iron deficiency. Due to this, the child’s blood cells are not able to deliver enough oxygen, due to which symptoms like fatigue, weakness and loss of appetite appear. If it is not treated in time, the child’s development may be stunted and his education may also be adversely affected.

In such a situation, one should not panic but should work on solutions along with the symptoms. Talking about the main symptoms of anemia in children, they are feeling tired quickly, low appetite, pale face and weakness, inability to concentrate and falling sick frequently.

To prevent anemia, give green leafy vegetables like spinach, fenugreek, mustard greens etc. to children daily. These are a good source of iron. Pulses and sprouts like moong, gram, kidney beans are rich in iron and protein. Include these in their plate. Also include Vitamin C rich fruits like orange, sweet lime, amla, lemon etc. Vitamin C helps in the absorption of iron. Include milk products like milk, curd and cheese in the child’s diet. Other sources like jaggery etc. are also helpful in preventing anemia.
