New Delhi, October 31 (IANS). Everyone wants their hair to be long, thick and shiny, but due to pollution, dust, wrong eating habits and chemical products, hair health is most affected.
Sometimes hair starts falling, scalp itches or hair starts looking lifeless. In such a situation, people use different types of hair serums, shampoos and treatments, but very rarely do they get real results. Actually, hair roots become strong only when the scalp is clean and natural nutrition can reach it. This is the reason why nowadays people are returning towards Ayurveda and one of the precious things in this Ayurvedic treasure is Multani Mitti.
Multani Mitti has been known for centuries to enhance the beauty of the skin, but very few people know that it is equally beneficial for the hair. The mineral elements present in it like magnesium, calcium and silica strengthen the hair roots. It cleanses the scalp very well, removing oil, dust and dirt within minutes. When the scalp is clean, hair growth automatically increases.
According to Ayurveda, Multani Mitti also corrects the Pitta and Kapha imbalance of the body, thereby reducing problems like hair fall and dandruff.
From a scientific point of view, Multani Mitti is a natural cleanser. It removes excess oil accumulated on the scalp and keeps the pores open. This improves blood circulation and the hair roots receive more oxygen. When the scalp remains clean and healthy, the hair not only grows faster but also looks soft and shiny. This is why many hair experts now recommend natural clay based masks.
There are many easy ways to take care of hair with Multani Mitti. If your hair is very dry, then applying Multani Mitti mixed with curd and honey provides deep moisture to the hair. Curd softens the hair and honey brings natural shine to it.
At the same time, if you have problem of dandruff or itching then using multani mitti mixed with fenugreek seeds is very effective. Fenugreek contains proteins and nicotinic acid which remove scalp infections and promote new hair growth.
For those with oily hair, the mask of multani mitti and plain water is no less than a boon. It absorbs excess grease from the head. At the same time, if you want your hair to be strong and thick, then applying henna mixed with multani mitti is beneficial. Mehndi nourishes the hair roots and also adds natural color, making the hair look beautiful and silky.
However, one thing to be kept in mind is that while using Multani Mitti, do not leave it on the hair for too long, because it causes stretchiness after drying and if kept for too long, it can cause dryness in the hair. It is better to apply it for 20 to 30 minutes and then wash it with lukewarm water. After this, it is beneficial to apply light oil to the hair so that moisture remains.
