Give balance to both body and mind, get control over PCOS with yoga

New Delhi, March 6 (IANS). In today’s busy life, PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) has become quite common among women. This is not just a result of hormones, but is a result of our daily diet, lifestyle and stress. In Ayurveda, yoga is considered a natural and effective method for PCOS management.

Yoga not only works to keep the body in form, but it also gives balance to both body and mind. PCOS causes problems like hormone imbalance, weight gain, irregular periods and stress. Yoga affects all these things gradually.

First of all, yoga improves your blood circulation. When blood circulation is good, your organs and tissues get the right amount of oxygen and nutrients. This improves your hormonal balance. Metabolism also increases with yoga. With correct posture and stretching, your body burns calories better and keeps your weight under control.

Stress is a big factor in PCOS. Stress further increases hormonal imbalance. In such a situation, the biggest advantage of yoga is that it relaxes both the mind and body. Through pranayam and meditation, you can calm your mind, which reduces stress and also improves sleep.

Some yoga asanas are especially beneficial for PCOS. Dhanurasana stretches your abdomen and lower back, increases blood circulation and helps balance hormones. Bhujangasana strengthens the spine and activates the abdominal organs. Whereas Baddha Konasana increases the blood flow around the hips and anus and reduces the pain during periods.

Yoga is not just for physical fitness. It also teaches you how to connect with your body. When you do yoga regularly, both your body and mind remain balanced.
