New Delhi, January 1 (IANS). The new year has started with the arrival of the year 2026. Taking a pledge to keep yourself healthy and fit can be the best resolution on this occasion. By adopting some simple rules in our lifestyle, we can remain healthy both physically and mentally. These rules are based on Ayurvedic principles, which help prevent diseases and infections.
The Ministry of AYUSH of the Government of India states that first of all a balanced diet is very important to stay healthy. Eat fresh fruits, green vegetables and protein-rich food daily. Also include coarse grains in your diet. This provides all the essential nutrients to the body, increases immunity and keeps weight under control.
Another important rule is daily exercise. Do at least 30 minutes of light exercise daily like yoga, jogging or walking. Both body and mind remain healthy by practicing Surya Namaskar, Bhramari, Kapalbhati, Anulom-Vilom. With this, vital organs like lungs, heart become stronger and energy level is maintained.
Don’t forget to drink plenty of water. Drink 8-10 glasses of water throughout the day. Due to this, the body remains hydrated, the digestive system remains fine and toxic substances are removed.
Prioritize sleep. Get 7-8 hours of deep and restful sleep every night. Good sleep keeps the mind fresh, relieves fatigue and the body repairs itself.
To avoid stress, make a habit of meditation or mental relaxation. Meditate for a few minutes daily, this keeps the mind calm and mental health strong. Apart from this, take full care of your hygiene. Small rules like washing hands and cleanliness protect from infection.
Stay away from tobacco, alcohol and other intoxicants completely, as these are the biggest enemies of health. Also, avoid canned or outside junk food, as they contain harmful ingredients.
By adopting these easy resolutions, you will not only stay away from diseases, but will also feel energetic and happy throughout the year.
