Gandhinagar, May 5 (IANS). Gujarat Health Minister Praful Pansheriya on Tuesday asked students not to be afraid of failure in life and face difficulties boldly. He also expressed concern over the increasing incidents of suicide among the youth. He said this in Gandhinagar while honoring Dr. Ganesh Baraiya of Bhavnagar Civil Hospital.

Dr. Ganesh Baraiya was honored for his hard work and determination. Despite physical challenges, he has achieved success in the fields of education and medicine. The minister said that his life is an inspiration for the youth.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister said, “One should not be afraid of any failure in life, one should become a warrior like Dr. Ganesh Baraiya. His academic struggle is a guiding light for the youth.”

Expressing concern over the increasing incidents of suicide among students, the Minister said that such cases are very painful for the families. When a son or daughter commits suicide, parents’ dreams are shattered.

He appealed to the students that instead of getting disappointed by failure, they should work hard and move forward again, this is the true meaning of life. Students pursuing courses like medical and engineering should not be afraid of failure and should take decisions carefully before taking any big step.

He said that when students think of suicide out of despair, they must think about the pain of their parents. Students living in hostel or outside should spend time with family instead of being busy on mobile when they come home. Success is not just about becoming a doctor or engineer, but it is the human values within a person that make him great.

In the program, Dr. Ganesh Baraiya said that he was rejected by the Medical Council of India, but he did not give up and fought till the Supreme Court and obtained his medical degree.

He thanked his teacher Dr. Dalpat Kataria, who helped him till the Supreme Court. The Minister also appreciated the strong teacher-student relationship and praised the cooperation of the Dean and Superintendent of the Medical College.
