Ranchi: A serious matter regarding the safety of patients and quality of food has come to light from RIMS located in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. The health of many patients admitted in the hospital suddenly deteriorated after consuming eggs served in the meal, due to which an atmosphere of chaos was created in the hospital premises.
According to the information, eggs were served to the patients as part of their regular nutritious diet. Some time after eating the egg, five to six patients started having problems like vomiting, stomach ache and diarrhea. When symptoms like food poisoning appeared in the patients, they were immediately kept under observation and treatment was started.
After the incident, the relatives of the patients have accused the hospital administration of negligence. He says that despite the deteriorating health of the patients, adequate medical assistance was not provided on time. According to the family members, neither the doctor reached the spot nor sufficient number of health workers were present for a long time.
After this incident, questions have started being raised regarding the food arrangements and quality of food items in the hospital. The patients and their families have demanded a fair investigation into the case and strict action against the culprits.
In protest, many patients refused to take dinner and returned the food served. He says that patients coming to the hospital for treatment should get quality and safe food. Carelessness in food is a serious threat to the health of the patients.
It is being told that after several patients fell ill together in the same ward, the patients collectively submitted a complaint to the RIMS management. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the RIMS administration has constituted a committee to investigate. The management says that the food samples are being tested and necessary action will be taken after receiving the committee’s report. At present, the health of the affected patients is being continuously monitored.
