New Delhi, February 19 (IANS). The most commonly available vegetables in winter are carrots and beetroot, which are used for making juice and in the form of salad.
Carrot and beetroot juice also has many benefits, about which everyone generally knows. Do you know that if carrot and beetroot are drunk together in the form of juice, the body gets countless benefits? This juice is like nectar for the body.
In Ayurveda, carrot and beetroot are considered to be a juice that provides energy to the body, which is not only colorful in appearance but is also full of taste and nutrition. Generally people take carrot and beetroot juice separately, but if they are drunk together then the body will get double the nutrition.
According to Ayurveda, this combination strengthens Rakta Dhatu, balances Pitta and is helpful in increasing Ojas in the body. Modern science also considers carrot and beetroot juice as a ‘natural blood booster drink’ for the body, which has no harm in drinking it daily. It contains beta-carotene, antioxidants, nitrate and iron-supporting elements, which help in improving the skin and increasing the blood count.
However, before drinking it, know about some precautions. First let us talk about the benefits of consuming carrot and beetroot juice. Carrots and beetroot contain beta-carotene, nitrate and folate, which improve blood flow and also increase the absorption of vitamin C in the body. They also work to increase the amount of blood in the body. Secondly, carrots and beetroot are also helpful in liver detox. Carrots and beetroot increase the ability of the liver to function properly and also maintain the balance of bile in the body.
Thirdly, carrots and beetroot are also helpful for skin, eye and hair health. Carrot and beetroot juice increases the amount of Vitamin A in the body, which is beneficial for both eyes and skin. The antioxidants in beetroot help reduce free-radical damage, thereby reducing dryness of the skin. Apart from this, its juice provides energy to the body.
Now let us know which people should be careful while consuming carrot and beetroot juice. A patient suffering from diabetes should not drink carrot and beetroot juice, because it increases the amount of sugar in the blood. Secondly, even if there is a problem of stones, its consumption should be avoided.
