Thiruvananthapuram, July 10 (IANS). On the occasion of World Population Day, Central Government’s public sector company HLL Lifecare Limited on Friday said that now it will not be limited to just population control, but will also pay special attention to the better health of the people. However, the company will continue to play its important role in the country’s family planning program as before.
HLL, a Mini Ratna company under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, said that now its main focus is to promote prevention-based health services, affordable medical facilities and new health technologies, so that the health of women and youth can be improved especially.
The company said that World Population Day 2026 reminds us that it is very important to invest in the health of people, especially the youth, to create a healthy society. The company will continue to develop affordable, good quality and accessible healthcare services and products.
HLL said that it has been working for the family planning program for a long time and now it has also expanded the scope of its health services. The company is now manufacturing condoms, contraceptive pills, emergency contraceptive pills, pregnancy test kits, Copper-T (IUCD) and many products related to maternal health.
Apart from this, keeping the environment in mind, the company has developed a sanitary pad named ‘Happydays Earth’, which is easily biodegradable and helps in reducing plastic waste and microplastics. This new product is compliant with BIS-2025 standards.
HLL has not limited itself to just manufacturing products, but is also providing affordable healthcare services across the country through Emerit Pharmacy and Hindlabs.
At Emerit Pharmacy, life-saving medicines, medical equipment and other essential items are available at up to 50 percent discount. At Hindlabs, testing services are provided at 30 to 60 percent lower prices than the market.
The company has now also launched new services like Emerit Plus Pharmacy, Specialty Hinlabs and HLL Home Healthcare Services.
Under these services, facilities like gene testing, modern diagnostic tests, nursing, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, treatment of chronic diseases, care of the elderly and tele-consultation are being delivered to people’s homes.
The company says that now it wants to work not just as an organization related to family planning, but as an organization that strengthens the comprehensive public health services of the country, so that all people can get better and accessible health services.
