Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a state visit to Israel on February 25-26 at the invitation of his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu. He described the visit as an opportunity to further deepen the “strong and multidimensional strategic partnership” of the two countries.
“At the invitation of my dear friend Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, I am paying a state visit to Israel on 25-26 February 2026,” the Prime Minister said in his departure statement.
Highlighting the progress of bilateral relations, the Prime Minister said, “India and Israel share a strong and multidimensional strategic partnership, which has seen remarkable growth and dynamism in recent years.”
He further said that he looks forward to discussions with Netanyahu with the aim of enhancing cooperation in various fields.
He said, “I look forward to the discussions I will have with Prime Minister Netanyahu that aim to further strengthen our cooperation in a variety of areas, including science and technology, innovation, agriculture, water management, defense and security, trade and investment, as well as people-to-people relations. We will also exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.”
During his visit, the Prime Minister will meet Isaac Herzog. The Prime Minister also announced that he would address the Knesset (Israeli Parliament), becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to do so.
He said, “I will also have the honor of becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset, an occasion that will be a tribute to the strong parliamentary and democratic ties that bind our two countries.”
The Prime Minister said he also looked forward to interacting with the Indian diaspora living in Israel, who has played an important role in strengthening bilateral goodwill. “I also look forward to interacting with members of the Indian diaspora who have long cherished the special India-Israel friendship,” he said.
Expressing confidence in the outcome of the visit, the Prime Minister said, “I am confident that my state visit will further strengthen the enduring ties between the two countries, set new goals for the strategic partnership and advance our shared vision for a resilient, innovative and prosperous future.”
