New Delhi, April 27 (IANS). In today’s busy life, Yoga is a very effective way to improve physical and mental health. Regular yoga practice not only reduces stress and fatigue, but also makes the body energetic. The simplest and most effective yoga asana among these is Shavasana, which provides new energy to the entire body.
Shavasana is a relaxation posture. This is a Sanskrit word. ‘Shav’ means dead body and ‘Asana’ means posture. In this asana, the person lies down in a calm and steady state and gives complete relaxation to the body and mind. This is the simplest and most effective asana of yoga, which plays an important role in relieving stress, anxiety and fatigue.
The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India described this asana as giving complete relaxation to the body and mind. According to him, this asana provides mental peace and reduces anxiety. It is also helpful in controlling blood pressure.
This asana is done at the end of a yoga session to reduce stress, fatigue and increase concentration. It is a cadaveric state that calms the nervous system and can be done to keep the body cool during summers.
First of all, spread the yoga mat and lie down on your back. Keep both hands slightly away from the body, palms upward. Spread your legs slightly. Close your eyes and take deep, normal breaths. Feel the body becoming more relaxed with each breath. Concentrate during this time. Keep your mind calm and divert attention from external thoughts. Experts say that after remaining in this state for 5-10 minutes, one should gradually come back to normal state.
Regular practice of Shavasana not only improves physical health but also provides mental peace and balance. Its regular practice reduces muscle tension and generates energy in the body.
