Patna, 26 December (IANS). With the changing weather, the crowd of patients infected with cold, cough and viral infection is increasing in the hospitals of Bihar. In such a situation, the health department has made complete preparations to deal with diseases related to cold and cough. Civil Surgeon Dr. Avinash Kumar Singh said that some hospitals have been put on red alert mode.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Avinash Kumar Singh, in a special conversation with IANS, has given information about the preparations being made in hospitals for the convenience of patients. He said that as the weather changes, cases of cold, cough, viral and breathing problems are increasing the most. We have given instructions to arrange 30 to 60 blankets in hospitals. It has also been ensured that heaters are installed in all the halls and rooms for the patients.
Good arrangements should be made to protect against cold in the rooms of pregnant women, especially where there are newborn babies.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Avinash Kumar Singh said that basic medicines related to cold, cough and fever are being provided to the patients free of cost. Patients do not need to pay a single rupee for these medicines. Apart from this, 10 beds in the hospital have been reserved only for winter patients, because cases like paralysis and heart attack are coming in winter. Hospitals have been put on red alert mode for such patients.
Children below 5 years of age and patients suffering from diabetes, BP and respiratory diseases have been advised to take special precautions during the winter season. Avinash Kumar Singh has said that in winter, the risk of cold diarrhea increases in children below 5 years of age and more cases related to it occur. At the same time, respiratory problems are being seen more in the elderly. Due to increasing pollution and fog, the functioning of the lungs is affected.
