Kolkata, June 20 (IANS). A new record can be made in the main event of International Yoga Day to be organized on Sunday in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. About 10 lakh people will practice yoga with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kolkata. Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of AYUSH, gave this information.
Speaking to IANS about the International Yoga Day event, Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha said, “This is the first time this event is being held in Kolkata, West Bengal and there is a lot of excitement to welcome our Prime Minister here.”
He said that today, June 20, there is going to be a big carnival. There will also be a big drone show. Nearly 500 boats will come together in an attempt to set a world record.
Secretary of the Ministry of AYUSH, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha also told that the Prime Minister will lead this event here on Sunday morning. 35 thousand people will gather at this place on Sunday. At the same time, 10 lakh people across Kolkata will do yoga with Prime Minister Modi. So far 7 lakh people have registered on the portal. By night this number will reach close to 10 lakh.
Monalisa Das, Joint Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, said, “International Yoga Day is celebrated at a new place every year, especially its main event. Every state celebrates it with great enthusiasm in its own way. This year too many new initiatives have been taken. As you must have seen, ‘Run for Yoga’ was organized at four places in Kolkata on Friday. 10,000 people, children, elders and women participated in it and ran. Similarly, in other districts too. ‘Run for Yoga’ was organised.
Joint Secretary Monalisa Das said that a drone show is to be organized on Saturday. Then on Sunday, Yoga Day will be celebrated in every corner of Kolkata.
On this occasion, yoga guru and yoga influencer Umang Tyagi said, “This time Prime Minister Modi himself will do yoga with us. I am proud that I will do yoga with him here in Kolkata. When your leader goes ahead and does something like this, it inspires you from within to do the same.”
He said that this time the theme of International Yoga Day ‘Yoga for Healthy Old Age’ is very special. At present India is the youngest country. Therefore this is also a big opportunity for the country. If you pay attention to your health and body at this time, your health will be better in the future. You will be able to do good work not only for yourself but also for the country.
A yoga instructor said, “This time yoga is not just yoga, it is becoming a celebration of yoga. So through this celebration we all are feeling very limitless. We should do more yoga and yoga should be there in every house. Similarly, in Kolkata too, programs related to yoga should always happen.”
