New Delhi, October 19 (IANS). Stomach is an essential part of the body, which digests food and transports digestive juices throughout the body through blood. Any stomach related problem affects the entire body and gradually starts making the body sick. Many things are effective in stomach related problems, but Isabgol is considered to be most effective for the overall health of the stomach.
In Ayurveda, Isabgol is considered as a herb and is used for stomach related problems. Isabgol contains plenty of fiber, which prevents constipation and also does not allow bad bacteria to grow.
Isabgol is gluten-free and low-calorie. This means that even people allergic to gluten can take it. Isabgol is cultivated mainly in dry areas. Like it is cultivated the most in Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Isabgol has been given great importance in Ayurveda, which is said to cleanse all three nerves. It has a cooling effect and works in different ways when taken with different things.
Isabgol is used to treat constipation, increase the speed of digestion, difficulty in passing stools, and to cleanse the intestines. If the stomach remains clean then the balance of hormones, BP, heartburn, gas, sugar and weight in the body remain under control. There are many methods suggested for taking Isabgol in Ayurveda. To cure constipation, difficulty in passing stool and to clean the intestines, Isabgol should be taken by mixing it with one spoon of lemon and warm water. By doing this the dirt accumulated in the stomach will be cleared.
If you want to stop the increasing weight, then mix honey in water and add one spoon of Isabgol in the morning on an empty stomach. If taken daily, you will feel less hungry and your stomach will feel full. If the problem of heartburn or gas is severe then Isabgol should be consumed with cold milk. This will keep the stomach cool and reduce the problem of gas. Apart from this, for blood sugar problem, half teaspoon of cinnamon should be mixed in water and taken with one teaspoon of Isabgol.
