More than 1.6 lakh Ayushman Arogya temples across the country are providing primary healthcare to the people. Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana provides free medical treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh on family basis to senior citizens aged 70 years and above.
The government has also launched programs focused on the health and welfare of the elderly, such as the National Older Health Care Program. It provides dedicated health services at the primary and tertiary level and the National Vayoshri Yojana, which provides physical and supportive life equipment.
