New Delhi, 12 September (IANS). Are you also among those who prefer junk food for pre weekend and post weekend celebrations? If this is the case then this news is for you! If you consume these fatty foods regularly for four days, then become cautious because by doing this you are not only harming your body but also the brain. The study suggests that this increases the risk of cognitive dysfunction (negative effects on thinking and understanding) and gradually the memory starts to weaken.
Research from the US-based North Carolina University (UNC) suggests that fatty junk food attaches the brain long before gaining weight or making you a diabetic, that is, their regular intake negatively affects the ability to think and understand.
These results warned and state that we should attack the factors that weaken obesity and memory. The first name comes from Western-style junk food (Junk Food affected by Western style).
The findings published in the neuron magazine have shown that a special group of brain cells in the hippocampus – called CCK Internurons – becomes highly active after eating high -fat diet (HFD). The causes of the activation of the CCK interuranals are the weakness of the brain’s ability to receive glucose.
Juan Song, Chief Investigator and Professor of Pharmacology at the UNC School of Medicine, said that this hyperactivity disrupts the way the Hippocampus makes measures processing. This hypercracity continues till a few days after taking high fat diet (HFD).
This discovery has also revealed that a protein called PKM2 plays an important role in increasing this problem. Indeed, this protein controls the use of energy by brain cells.
Song, a member of the UNC Neuroscience Center, said, “We knew that diet and metabolism could affect brain health, but we did not expect the CCK interuranals (specific and weak groups of brain cells) present in the hippocampus.”
Song further said, “We were most surprised that these cells rapidly changed their activity after the lack of glucose, and this change was enough to weaken the memory.”
The team conducted this test on mice. He was placed on a high -fat diet like fatty junk food.
Within four days of eating high -fat diet, the results showed that CCK interuranules in the memory center of the brain became unusually active.
Research also shows that restoring glucose levels in the brain really calmed down and recovering memory problems of mice.
The study suggests that obesity can lead to changes in food and some drugs to prevent related neurodizonation and maintain brain health.
Remarkable, researchers found that intermittent fasting after high-fat-diet can also benefit. This causes CCK internals normal and improves memory.
