New Delhi, January 3 (IANS). Today’s irregular daily routine and unhealthy eating habits are weakening the body, which first affects the knees and hip joints. Pain and weakness have become common problems in these, but simple practice of yoga ‘knee movement’ or samastithi can easily overcome these problems.

According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, knee movements strengthen the knees and hip joints, increase stability and improve lower body strength. This asana called ‘Knee Movement’ or ‘Samasthiti’ (alert posture) is very useful in strengthening the knees and hip joints. This easy exercise increases lower body stability and provides strength. It is considered the basic posture of yoga.

According to experts, to practice knee movement, stand straight and join your legs, keep your hands next to the body and keep your eyes in front. In this posture the body has to be completely balanced, which strengthens the foundation of the body.

Its regular practice strengthens the knees and hip joints, providing better balance and stability in daily life. This exercise is especially beneficial for those who feel weakness in the lower body due to the habit of sitting for long periods of time. Many people complain of pain in knees and hips. In such a situation, knee movement is helpful in getting rid of these problems.

This posture not only increases physical strength but also improves mental concentration. Experts believe that standing in this posture for a few minutes every day strengthens the muscles and reduces unnecessary pressure on the joints.

Knee movement is not just a stable standing posture, but it is effective for balancing both body and mind. However, experts also warn. If a person has a severe condition of arthritis, then this asana should be avoided. In such a situation, definitely take advice from a doctor or yoga expert. Otherwise, healthy individuals can do it easily at home without any equipment.
