New Delhi, November 16 (IANS). Our falling ill is related to our stomach and digestive power. It is clear in Ayurveda that if the digestive capacity of the stomach is correct then the nutritional juice from the cells of the body will reach every part, if this does not happen then the body starts suffering from diseases.
In Ayurveda, food becomes medicine only when the digestive fire is strong. Due to Jathragni, food is converted into digestive juice and nourishes every part of the body. If the digestive fire is slow then no matter how much nutritious food is taken, it will not be absorbed by the body. The gastric fire of the stomach should neither be too fast nor slow. Many effective methods have been suggested in Ayurveda to intensify the gastric fire of the stomach. By adopting some simple habits before meals, the body can be made healthy throughout life. Ginger can be consumed for this.
Ginger is considered the first lamp of fire in Ayurveda, which if consumed with lemon juice and rock salt, keeps the acid and alkali produced in the stomach balanced. This increases gastric fire. Consumption of garlic and Trikatu powder in limited quantity also helps in intensifying the digestive fire. For this, take one-fourth teaspoon garlic powder and half teaspoon Trikatu powder with rock salt after eating. It is beneficial for stomach health.
Consuming one teaspoon of garlic clove, cumin powder, rock salt and lemon mixed together increases liver function and intensifies digestion. Bay leaves used in tempering are also beneficial for the stomach. For this, boil one bay leaf in water, keep it covered for some time and then consume it. Bay leaf also relieves the problem of cough and also increases the digestive fire of the stomach.
