Pune, February 9 (IANS). NCP-SP chief Sharad Pawar was taken from Baramati to Pune’s Ruby Hall Clinic for medical checkup after he developed persistent cough on Monday.
The senior leader has a severe cough and is also having some trouble breathing.
According to his nephew Srinivas Pawar, these symptoms increased on Sunday night, due to which it was decided to immediately admit him to the hospital.
Purves Grant, head of Ruby Hall Clinic, has been informed about the situation.
After investigation, Grant will decide whether Sharad Pawar needs to be admitted or he can be sent home after treatment.
His daughter and Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule is currently in the hospital with her father Sharad Pawar.
According to Grant, “Sharad Pawar has been coughing since this morning. We will examine him soon and decide on the necessary treatment. He will be admitted if needed. We will take a decision based on his health condition.”
A team of expert doctors is monitoring Sharad Pawar’s health. Many important tests have been done regarding his health.
The dosage and quantity of the medicine will be determined after the test report comes.
The hospital administration has confirmed that the primary concern is severe cough, and the decision on hospitalization will be taken only after a thorough investigation.
Following the recent demise of his nephew and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash, Sharad Pawar was traveling between his residences in Mumbai’s Baramati and Pune.
Sharad Pawar had undergone surgery for oral cancer before 2004.
Over the past few years, the NCP-SP chief has undergone several operations related to the disease in both India and the US.
