New Delhi, 16 June (IANS). In the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Ankush Narang, the Leader of Opposition of Aam Aadmi Party, criticized the BJP government for increasing diseases like malaria, dengue and chikungunya in Delhi. Referring to the weekly report of MCD, he said that the BJP is not worried about the health of Delhiites. Malaria cases are increasing rapidly due to not taking concrete steps to prevent these diseases.

Ankush Narang said that malaria cases in Delhi have broken a five -year record, 33 new cases have come up last week. He suggested that the BJP government should also conduct an awareness campaign like the ‘AAP’ government so that diseases like malaria, dengue and chikungunya can be stopped. He alleged that since the BJP government came, no concrete steps were taken to prevent these diseases. On the other hand, when Arvind Kejriwal was the Chief Minister, every Sunday at 10 am, a 10 -minute awareness campaign was going on, which was to make people aware about dengue. This led to people to know about the weather of malaria, dengue and chikungunya and they were cautious. At that time people used to check water in their homes so that diseases could be prevented from spreading.

Ankush Narang said that the Aam Aadmi Party is saying from June that a weekly report of malaria, dengue and chikungunya should be released. If these diseases are becoming an epidemic, then daily reports should come. However, MCD is not taking any concrete steps to prevent these diseases. He said that it is necessary to make the public aware to prevent these diseases. Mosquito larvae will not end until people themselves examine the roof, coolers, tanks and tires of their house. Spraying of medicine is necessary, but the public will have to be taken up for this.

Narang said that malaria cases have been the highest in the last five years for the last two weeks. This week a total of total cases have been 297, while last week it was 264, ie 33 new cases have increased. He also questioned the report and said that the BJP always tries to hide the figures. The correct figures are not collected from all places. This time fogging had to be started from May-June itself, whereas earlier it was in September, October or November. This is because this year, cases of malaria, chikungunya and dengue are increasing rapidly.

Ankush Narang described the matter of spraying medicines from the drones as ridiculous. He said that the officials are talking about sprinkling medicines around the railway track, but the slums have been removed there. Then what is the medicine being sprayed there? Water is filled in many places in Delhi and the number of mosquitoes is increasing due to floods, but the government is failing to control it. In addition, DBC and MTS employees of MCD are going to go on indefinite strike from September 29. Narang said that the BJP does not know how to rule. They have no plans to protect the people of Delhi from malaria, chikungunya and dengue.
