New Delhi, December 8 (IANS). With increasing age, changes start taking place in the body. The enthusiasm and energy that was there earlier starts decreasing. The glow of the skin starts decreasing and wrinkles start appearing. Digestion becomes weak and sometimes pain in joints and bones also starts. Meanwhile, in Ayurveda, there is a tree mentioned which can help in all these problems.
This tree is Sycamore, which is scientifically called Ficus Racemosa. This tree is similar to fig in appearance, but its properties make it different from common trees.
In Ayurveda, the fruits, leaves, stem and bark of sycamore are all said to be beneficial for health. Its leaves balance pitta and kapha and help in digestion. Leaves have long been used in Ayurveda to increase body strength and energy. Sycamore fruits also give different properties at different times. Both raw and ripe fruits can be used. The fruits are round in shape and look like figs.
The bark and stem of sycamore are also full of medicinal properties. Some elements are found in the bark which reduce inflammation in the body and protect the liver. The milk coming out of trees is also beneficial. By applying it externally, wounds heal quickly, boils get relief and skin infections go away.
Scientific research has also proved that the elements present in sycamore strengthen the cells of the body. This slows down the aging process, reduces wrinkles, keeps the skin healthy and the organs work at their proper speed. Consumption of sycamore maintains energy in the body and also purifies the blood. It also helps in problems like diabetes and heart related diseases.
Consumption of sycamore is also very beneficial for digestion. It provides relief from constipation, stomach ache and digestive problems. Apart from this, swelling of the body is reduced. All this together strengthens the body from within and slows down the effects of aging.
