'Melon Kheer' is a combination of coolness and nutrition in summer, know how to make it

New Delhi, June 8 (IANS). It is extremely hot in many states of the country. In such a situation, people are worried about what to eat and what not? In the summer season, the demand for seasonal things that provide coolness and freshness to the body increases. In such a situation, melon kheer is especially sweet. Which is not only light and refreshing in taste but is also very beneficial for health.

Melon kheer is prepared from milk, rice and ripe melon pulp. Its taste is slightly sweet and creamy, which gives a feeling of coolness in summer. People can make it easily at home.

According to Ayurveda, melon is considered a natural boon for the body in summer. About 90 percent water is found in it, which helps in keeping the body hydrated. In summer, when the body starts losing water due to sweating, melon plays an important role in removing this deficiency.

Apart from this, many essential nutrients like Vitamin A, Vitamin C, potassium and fiber are found in melon. These elements not only strengthen the body’s immunity but also keep the digestive system better. The presence of fiber is helpful in eliminating problems like constipation.

In Ayurveda, melon is considered a fruit with cooling effect, which reduces excess heat in the body and cools the stomach. It is also beneficial for the skin, because the vitamins A and C present in it help in keeping the skin healthy and glowing. Besides, it is also considered useful for eye health.

Experts say that melon is a low-calorie fruit, which is also helpful in controlling weight. It makes the stomach feel full for a longer period, which reduces the habit of eating again and again. However, diabetic patients should consume it only as per the doctor’s advice.

Melon kheer is also beneficial. To make it, first of all milk is boiled, rice is mixed in it and it is cooked on low flame. After this, sweetness is increased by adding condensed milk to it. Finally, ripe melon pulp is added and the mixture is cooked thoroughly. The prepared kheer is cooled and kept in the refrigerator and while serving it is garnished with saffron and almonds. In summer, this kheer is not only excellent in taste, but also works to provide coolness and energy to the body.
