New Delhi, March 14 (IANS). In Ayurveda, diseases have been treated for centuries with herbs obtained from nature. Some herbs are present in our kitchen, mere consumption of which can give the boon of health to the body.
Garlic and honey are both things which are easily available in every home, but the mixture of these two things is life-saving for the body. Garlic and honey are helpful in curing heart disease and poor digestion.
Apart from vegetables, garlic is used in diseases. In Ayurveda, people suffering from high cholesterol are advised to eat fresh garlic cloves. Garlic contains the healthy element allicin, which is a kind of antibiotic and antioxidant. By consuming it, blood circulation remains proper in the body and the blood does not become thick. Garlic contains oxygen, sulfur and other chemicals, which provide antibacterial and anti-disease properties to garlic.
Whereas honey is a natural sweet substance, the consumption of which has less effect on the health of people suffering from diabetes. Honey contains two antioxidants called flavonoids and polyphenols, which help in reducing itching, redness, and strengthening the immunity of the body. Honey also has antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties, which are helpful in many diseases.
Now let’s talk about the mixture of garlic and honey. By mixing garlic and honey together, its properties are doubled. In Ethiopian medicine, the mixture of garlic and honey has been said to be a lifesaver for the body against respiratory diseases, infections, skin diseases, heart diseases and stomach related diseases. This mixture helps in reducing the symptoms of cold and cough and reduces the risk of stroke by thinning the blood. Along with this, it is also helpful in high blood pressure, arthritis, toothache, constipation and infection.
For this, peel and put fresh garlic cloves in a clean glass jar. Fill pure honey in a jar and keep it for 5 to 7 days and after it gets fermented, consume it on an empty stomach in the morning. Children and pregnant women should mix the intake only after medical advice.
