Aizawl, February 3 (IANS). Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Tuesday said the state government has significantly strengthened the health infrastructure across the state through upgradation of district hospitals, community health centers (CHCs) and primary health centers (PHCs), thereby providing better and quality medical services to the people.
Inaugurating the two-day ‘Knowledge Exchange Health Conclave’ organized under the Mizoram Health Systems Strengthening Project (MHSSP) run at a cost of Rs 280 crore under the Health and Family Welfare Department, the Chief Minister said that the health sector is one of the top priorities of the government and continuous efforts are being made to increase service delivery and efficiency of the system.

Lalduhoma said that these achievements were possible due to the Mizoram Health Systems Strengthening Project and for this he expressed gratitude for the support of the World Bank and the Central Government.
He expressed hope that this conclave will prove to be an important platform for sharing knowledge with health experts from across the country.
He said, “This brainstorming will develop better strategies, broader understanding and stronger cooperation in the health sector, which will benefit Mizoram as well as the entire country.”
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released a coffee table book.
Health Minister Lalrinpui in his address said that procurement of new equipment and effective utilization of resources through MHSSP has led to significant improvement in medical facilities and health centres.
