Chennai, 7 December (IANS). ‘Nalam Kakkam Stalin’, a healthcare program being run for rural and economically weaker sections in Tamil Nadu, will now be organized not once but twice a week.
This announcement was made by Tamil Nadu Health Minister Hon. Subramaniam has done it. This decision has been taken with the aim of providing health benefits to maximum people in the stipulated time and completing the planned number of camps in the stipulated time.
In an official statement issued by the state health department, the minister said that Chief Minister M.K. This decision has been taken under the chairmanship of Stalin to implement the scheme rapidly and to benefit as many people as possible. Now under the health care program, camps will be organized twice a week and if it is felt that the number of camps needs to be increased, then full focus will be given to that also. The camps will be held two days a week, on Thursday and Saturday, in all the revenue districts of the state.
Let us tell you that ‘Nalam Kakkam Stalin’ scheme is a health care program of the Tamil Nadu government, under which free health check-up and early diagnosis of diseases is provided to the poor and weaker sections of the society. The main objective of the program is also to prevent the spread of diseases like cancer and TB. The camp provides both screening and treatment services for diagnosis of cancer and TB.
Talking about the camps organized under the health care program ‘Nalam Kakkam Stalin’, the Health Minister said that with the help of the camps organized in Kanchipuram district, six new cancer cases have been detected, which include two cases of breast cancer and four cases of cervical cancer. After the arrival of new cases, treatment of patients has been started and apart from this, many TB patients have also been detected.
Let us tell you that a total of 1,256 camps are to be organized in the state and so far 678 camps have been organized in the last 18 weeks. So far, more than 10 lakh people have availed medical facilities in 678 camps and the remaining camps will also be set up soon.
The Health Minister further said that the camps are also focusing on people suffering from lifestyle related diseases like BP, mental health and diabetes. People from socio-economically backward groups are being given priority in the camps.
