New Delhi, November 12 (IANS). Due to increasing screen time in the growing digital age, eye problems are increasing rapidly. Most of the people are facing eye related problems. Ayurveda has an effective way to give relief to the eyes in the form of Netra Tarpan.
The Department of AYUSH, Government of Madhya Pradesh recommends the adoption of Ayurvedic treatments to maintain eye health and overcome related problems. According to the department, Netra Tarpan keeps the eyes healthy, shiny and stress free.
Netra Tarpan provides deep nourishment and coolness to the eyes. In this process, under the supervision of a Vaidya, a circular circle is made from wheat flour around the eyes. In this, pure cow ghee, which is mixed with medicinal herbs and is lukewarm, is gradually filled. The patient has to lie down with his eyes closed for 10-15 minutes. This process relaxes the eye muscles, removes dryness, reduces irritation and redness and provides relief from blurred vision.
The AYUSH department advises that eye treatment should be done only by a trained physician. Apart from this, ancient methods like Triphala water and oil massage of feet are also simple and home remedies, which are beneficial for the eyes.
For this, soak Triphala powder in water at night. Filter it in the morning and wash your eyes with this water. It protects the eyes from infections and helps in sharpening vision.
Oil massage of feet is also a very beneficial treatment for the eyes. Applying cow ghee or sesame oil on the soles and massaging them lightly before sleeping provides relief.
There are acupressure points in the feet associated with the eyes. This massage reduces stress, improves sleep and improves eyesight. Regular adoption of these remedies not only makes the eyes healthy but also removes the problems related to them.
