New Delhi, June 27 (IANS). Union Health Minister JP Nadda is going to launch several digital initiatives for the health sector. This was announced on Saturday. These also include ‘Arogya Setu 2.0’, which is a comprehensive Personal Health Records (PHR) application for citizens.
The launch event to be held on June 29 in the national capital will be attended by representatives of states, senior government officials, healthcare leaders, technology partners, industry representatives and key stakeholders from the healthcare ecosystem. This event will mark another milestone in India’s journey to build a connected and interoperable healthcare ecosystem.
The initiatives being launched include applications for citizens, solutions for service providers, interoperability frameworks, registries and data standards.
Building on the trust and reach built during the COVID-19 pandemic, the new ‘Arogya Setu 2.0’ application provides access to multiple digital health services through a single platform.
According to the ministry, the application facilitates creation and management of Aabha (Ayushman Bharat Health Account), access and sharing of digital health records, consent-based health information exchange, AI-powered health insights and smart health reports, integration of wearable devices, OPD registration through ‘Scan and Register’, hospital payments through ‘Scan and Pay’, medication reminders and family health management. Is.
It also helps in finding nearby healthcare facilities and doctors, ambulance services, blood banks with blood unit availability and Jan Aushadhi Kendras. Additionally, the application provides access to PM-JAY services, including finding PM-JAY affiliated hospitals, accessing AB PM-JAY Wallet and Ayushman CAPF policy information and availing other healthcare services easily.
The Ayushman App will also serve as a one-stop digital platform for the beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY).
Another important initiative is ‘Ayushman Sarathi’, a WhatsApp chatbot for Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY beneficiaries.
It has been designed to provide PM-JAY services through an easy-to-interface interface. ‘Ayushman Sarathi’ will help citizens avail key services related to the scheme, thereby improving access to services and strengthening last mile delivery systems. The National Health Claims Exchange (NHCX), a digital public infrastructure to ease health claims processing, will enable standardized exchange of health claims information between providers and payers in government and private health insurance programs. This will reduce the administrative burden and make claim processing faster and more efficient.
A drug registry will also be launched with the aim of standardizing information related to medicines in the healthcare ecosystem.
To facilitate seamless coordination (interoperability) between digital health systems based on shared standards and common terminology, the government will launch ‘Common Link Codes for India’ (CLCI). It is a nationally developed subset of international laboratory standards adapted to the needs of Indian healthcare. It has been developed by the National Resource Center for Electronic Health Records Standards (NRCES) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
