Old bottle can become a danger for you, the water kept in it dissolves poison in the stomach.

New Delhi, February 13 (IANS). It is very important to keep the body hydrated. For this, everyone carries a water bottle with them from home, but in all this we often make a small mistake, and that is that we do not change the water bottle from time to time. We keep using that one bottle for months, without thinking that how dangerous the old bottle and the water kept in it can be for our health.

From both science and Ayurveda point of view, water remains safe and pure only when it is in the right quantity. Bacteria, viruses and fungi start growing in plastic or any other type of bottle over time. This problem especially occurs when the bottle is used repeatedly and is not cleaned properly. It is said in Ayurveda that pure and fresh water is the life-giving power for the body. When water is impure or contaminated, it can have adverse effects on digestion and metabolism.

If we talk about everyday bottles, then keeping water in it for more than two-three days or using the same bottle for a long time can be harmful. Bacteria grow rapidly in an old bottle, and it can cause problems like stomach pain, vomiting or flatulence. According to science, even if the water is clean and filtered, the cleanliness of the vessel in which it is kept and not changing it on time affects the purity of the water.

According to Ayurveda, the micro-organisms and impurities present in continuously used bottles can increase the imbalance of Vata and Pitta in the body. This can weaken the body’s natural immune system and increase the risk of minor infections.

Experts say that plastic bottles should be replaced every 6 to 12 months. Apart from this, it is also very important to add fresh water every day or every two-three days and clean the bottle thoroughly. If the bottle starts to smell or has stains or marks on it, replace it immediately. Not only water, but the purity of the bottle is also important for health.

Nowadays, the trend of stainless steel and glass bottles is increasing in the market. These bottles reduce the risk of bacteria growth. Also, the water in these bottles remains fresh and cold for a long time.
