New Delhi, March 12 (IANS). World Kidney Day is celebrated across the world every year on the second Thursday of March. This time World Kidney Day is being celebrated on 12th March, i.e. Thursday.
On this day, we raise awareness about proper kidney care, risks and timely identification of kidney related diseases. On this occasion, Delhi AIIMS has also given some easy methods for kidney care and some ways to identify diseases.
All India Institute of Medical Sciences has shared information about kidney health by sharing a post on social media on World Kidney Day. She wrote, “Your kidneys quietly work every day to keep your body in balance, filtering out toxins, regulating fluids and maintaining overall health. This World Kidney Day, take a moment to make kidney care a priority. Early awareness and timely care can help prevent serious complications.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences has given priority in the videos to focus on kidney complications, such as chronic kidney disease. One in 10 people in our country is suffering from this disease. In this condition, the kidneys gradually lose their ability to function and toxic substances start accumulating in the body. In the initial stages, symptoms of chronic kidney disease are not visible, but as the disease progresses, it becomes incurable and the last option left is dialysis or transplant.
AIIMS has also shared some tips for kidney care, like getting urine protein test done from time to time, blood pressure monitoring and blood creatinine test done. Along with this, drinking more water, controlling weight and avoiding unnecessary medicines are also included. In today’s time, due to poor lifestyle, people have become dependent on medicines and even in minor problems, they have started taking medicines without medical advice. In such a situation, kidney function is greatly affected. In such a situation, regular checkup and proper diet are also important in lifestyle.
