New Delhi, December 19 (IANS). Many such plants have been mentioned in Ayurveda, which have been used for life preservation for centuries.
There are some plants whose flowers and roots are helpful in reducing many types of diseases. One such plant is Patharchatta. The name sounds a bit strange, but it is used in Ayurveda to get relief from stones, urine infection and BP problems.
In Ayurveda, Patharchatta is also known as ‘Pashan Bhed’. This name has been given because of its properties that provide relief from the problem of stones. The decoction of its flowers and leaves are used in various diseases. Patharchhatta is a plant that can be easily included in your kitchen garden. It is easy to grow, because it is perennial. It does not require any special care.
Patharchatta has anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and antioxidant properties, which helps in reducing internal inflammation of the body, heals wounds, breaks stones, speeds up digestion, gives relief from joint pain and is also beneficial for skin and hair. Many ways of using the Pattharchatta plant have been described in Ayurveda.
In case of BP, it is advised to drink decoction of its leaves. Its leaves can also be taken daily by adding it to tea. In Ayurveda, the decoction of Patharchatta has also been described as a medicine for the problem of stones. The decoction of Pattharchatta leaves helps in breaking the stones present in the body and also helps in reducing internal swelling. However, please consult a doctor before consuming it.
Patharchatta has anti-inflammatory properties, which are helpful in healing wounds and preventing the spread of infection. For this, it is advised to apply a paste of its leaves on the wound. If there are frequent problems related to urine infection, then the decoction of stonewort flowers is beneficial. It reduces urinary tract infections and helps in reducing UTI infections.
