New Delhi, March 12 (IANS). Yoga for women is not just limited to physical fitness but it also helps in curing their internal health and menstrual related problems. One such yoga asana is Pawanmuktasana. By doing this, many functions of the digestive and reproductive organs improve.
Often women have problems like gas, flatulence or constipation, which increase tension and discomfort throughout the day. By doing Pawanmuktasana daily, the abdominal muscles get activated like a light massage and the gas comes out easily. This reduces heaviness and swelling in the stomach and digestion also works properly.
When the stomach and digestive system work properly, the body’s energy also increases and women feel refreshed throughout the day. Besides, this asana also helps in providing relief from constipation, which has become a common problem in today’s lifestyle.
It is very easy to do this asana and it does not require any special equipment. You lie down on your yoga mat or floor and slowly bring your knees towards the chest and hold them with your hands. Remain in this position for a few seconds and then slowly release the feet on the ground. By doing this 2-3 times a day, you start feeling the difference. You can do this in the morning on an empty stomach or in the evening after having a light meal.
It is not limited to stomach problems only, but it also strengthens the muscles of the pelvic and reproductive organs. Strong pelvic muscles help in maintaining regular menstruation in women and also improves reproductive health.
Pawanmuktasana can reduce menstrual problems often seen in women such as stomach pain, cramps or irregularities. This asana relaxes the body, reduces stress and improves sleep.
If this is done continuously, it can also prove helpful in problems related to pregnancy or reproduction. Light massage of the muscles and improvement in blood flow is good for the health of the reproductive organs. Apart from this, by doing Pawanmuktasana, the blood flow in the body also remains healthy, due to which women feel less tired and weak.
