New Delhi, May 18 (IANS). In today’s busy life, uncontrolled eating habits have become a big problem for health. Due to paucity of time, at some places food is prepared in two minutes and at some places outside food is ordered. But these habits are not only enemies of physical but also mental health.
The biggest misconception about outside food is that it is delicious. However, these foods made with excess salt, sugar and oil cause many problems to the body. In such a situation, the National Health Mission (NHM) warns people that consuming excessive amounts of oil, salt and sugar gradually harms the body and invites many serious diseases. High blood pressure, obesity, diabetes and heart related problems are increasing due to consumption of excess oil, salt and sugar.
Apart from these, mental health is also adversely affected. Fatigue, irritability, stress and sleep problems have become common. Health experts say that by controlling the quantity of these three things, both physical and mental problems can be controlled.
In such a situation, health experts advise that small changes can give big health benefits. If you reduce the amount of oil, salt and sugar a little from today, then within a few weeks you will feel energy and peace in yourself.
According to NHM, it is very important to control their quantity daily. For this, reduce the oil by 10 percent from the present quantity. Reduce the amount of oil used while cooking. Excess oil increases obesity and cholesterol. Reduce the amount of sugar in tea, milk, sweets, cold drinks and packaged juices. Too much sugar causes weight gain, diabetes and dental problems. At the same time, add less salt in food. Also keep an eye on the salt hidden in table salt, pickles, papad and processed foods. Excessive salt increases blood pressure.
Health experts advise to adopt a balanced diet and eat only fresh home-made food. Eat more fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Avoid junk food and packaged food and exercise or walk daily.
