New Delhi, April 6 (IANS). In summer, when the strong sun and heat make the body tired, then an old and effective home remedy, poppy seed syrup, comes to mind. Made from small white grains, this drink not only provides coolness but also gives strength and freshness. Poppy seeds, always present in grandmothers’ kitchens, are indeed like nectar for summer.
Poppy seeds, which is scientifically called Papaver somniferum, have been used in our food and Ayurveda for thousands of years. In Ayurveda, it is considered a herb that calms pitta dosha. Its cooling nature reduces excess body heat.
